A slow sleepy place, Trullo L'Oleandro, a place of coolness and modern efficiency. The kitchen is the heart of the house and of life, the bedrooms in the most secluded areas, the outdoor dining area for freshness beneath the pergola, breathe in the scents of the olive grove and Oleandro bushes. And then, there is the humble elegance of the in/out lounge.
Location
Straddling the two towns of Cisternino and Ostuni, L’Oleandro sits on a hilltop with long views over fertile lands and a luminous countryside filled with millenary olive groves, a panorama that accompanies you to the outlying village of Cassalini before ascending into the nearby historic, market town of Cisternino.
The trullo is reached via a dirt road from the main provincial road that stretches from Ostuni to the local hamlet,called Casalini. The dirt track climbs the hillside for about 1500 metres until you reach the base camp, where you can park securely and privately throughout your stay.
Great for friends & family
Four bedrooms and three shower rooms, give ample space for guests and family. The layout lends itself to a two family accommodation or a large family with children and grand-parents with good mobility.
The Interiors
Divided into three areas, but all forming a unitary whole, Trullo L'Oleandro was recently, architecturally remodelled, extended and restored, preserving its particular fascination with originality and character.
The impact is immediate, beyond the courtyard entrace is a wide space for outdoor lounging and dining with transparent windows to allow the natural light in without obscuring the splendid landscaped views. A place of conversation and relaxation.
The rest of the house takes you from modern to old, playing with composition and balance, intriguing artwork with a glimpse at the owners, a project of lighting, decor and furnishings that personalise and bring a sense of life to Trullo Oleandro.
Two guest bedrooms with shared shower room, wardrobe and drawer space, intimate and cozy. One of which has a private door to the rear gardens.
The quality steel kitchen, stylish and functional, is fully equipped with dishwasher, full fridge, oven and induction work top, ice maker, coffee machine and so much more. From the breakfast bar, a long corridor is broken up by the kid’s room tucked in on the left with bunkbeds, clothes cupboard and family shower room opposite.
The original Trullo, the principal double bedroom, lays at the end of the corridor. Enriched with an entrance through an arch, giving a vibrant light to the interiors, white plastered walls, niches for books and knickknacks, and private shower room
The Exteriors
A twist of the old and the new, terraces, the pool and the revolving grounds at different levels. Wood burning oven for baking foccacia, breads and pizzas, a fragrant reminder of summer evenings and outdoor fun with the family and friends. Entertain the idea of having our Pizza Chef take the orders, to make the evening more special!
A barbecue zone, embrace the tradition of cooking over an open flame. The best place to grill meats, fishes and vegetables.
The green/black pond below has a personality of its own, designed to provide some welcome freshness in the hot summer days but also to disappear into the landscape, noticed but not intrusive to the countryside, the home of the grandest olive trees and aged old pines.
