Fourteen years ago, travelling alone, I, Colleen Boot of British origin, landed at Bari airport via France, where I lived at the time; when Bari Karol Wojtyła was just a hub for local traffic and the car hire centre was a portacabin next door; I was heading in the general direction of Alberobello, for a long weekend. Perhaps because Puglia is naturally seductive, fascinating and alluring; a place where it is still possible to lose yourself in; that I was so enamored.



Less than a year later, I transferred mind, body and soul to Ostuni, Puglia. Networking was challenging to say the least, as was the language barrier. However, with a little time and more luck, I found some freelance work, doing simple translations for a real estate agency with internationally based clients and from there I slowly built up my contacts and portfolio of services.

Armed with a new found vocabulary of building and housing terms, I began assisting clients in restoration projects, taking them through building regulations and architectural demands. An exhilarating and challenging period. Good grounding for the Project Management* days ahead and a lesson on how to get ahead in a Masculine environment.

The boom in real estate investment assisted the growth in demand for the annual house and holiday rental management services too. Owners assets entrusted into my hands, our hands at Relax Puglia, to meet the challenges of annual maintenance requirements, inherited administration issues*, land and gardening upkeep, bureaucratic requirements and contractual hiatuses. In 2013, Relax Puglia added holiday villa rentals, to compliment the portfolio of services. The company now provides a wide range of services and rentals in Puglia, including holiday rental management, holiday bhome customer services and holiday activities and services.

Maintaining personal contact with our guests is important to me. I am fortunate to have a friendly, constructive team, who are available throughout our guests’ holiday period to organize holiday activities and services and deal timely with any issues.

All our properties are supplied with guides of the Area and the Property. Equally we can help you with bespoke tours, in-house chef, restaurant bookings, shopping and wine delivery, in-house massage, taxi and airport transfers.

The rental listing is carefully selected, properties offered by owners who have nurtured and sought to achieve a surprise for their guests; accommodation that goes beyond somewhere to lay one’s hat.

My belief is that holiday homes should be a place to be felt and experienced with emotions and made one’s own, a place that becomes a part of us, stays with us, when the holiday has ended. A place that takes a niche in our thoughts and beckons us to return.

Puglia is a slow growth holiday destination, where culture and traditions are proudly present. We are thrilled to be a part of its awakening and I wholeheartedly, hope our guests become as enamored with Puglia as I did fourteen years ago; of course, I do not expect you to come and live here! 😉
