National Gallery of Puglia - Bari


The National Gallery of Puglia is located in Bitonto, Puglia, is located in the Palazzo Sylos Calò, the finest example of Renaissance architecture in the area. It features a range of works dating from the 16th century to the 20th century. The gallery was created in 2004, when brother and sister, Rosaria and Girolamo Devanna, donated a large and important art collection to the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. The gallery was opened in 2009.

Vincent Brunetti House Museum - Guagnano


Vincenzo “Vincent” Maria Brunetti was born in Guagnano, just outside Lecce, in 1950. He is an Italian painter, sculptor, architect and music lover. Having worked all over Italy, perticularly in Milan, he returned home and set up a colourful sanctuary of art, reminiscent of Park Guell in Barcelona. Located in a converted church, the hermitage is full of colourful mosaics, butterflies, sacred icons and statues. It resembles a colorful cathedral and it is very welcoming, inspirational and uplifting for everyone who visits.

Pinacoteca Civica Art Gallery - Conversano


The Pinacoteca gallery is located inside the castle of Conversano. It houses an interesting collection of paintings by the Neapolitan Baroque painter Paolo Domenico Finoglio (1590-1645). The collection is based on the theme of 'Jerusalem Liberata', the famous poem of the Cup that tells the story of the first crusade. This exceptional ensemble of ten large canvases is considered the largest non-religious Italian cycle of the 17th century. It was commissioned by the Count of Conversano to decorate the castle.

Museo della civiltà Contadina – Ruffano


More of a museum than an art gallery, the Museo della civiltà Contadina was founded in 2002 and is located on the ground floor of an 18th century building, Palazzo Pasanisi, in Torrepaduli, Ruffano. The museum is spread across 10 rooms and provides a fascinating glimpse into the peasant civilization of Salento from the end of the 1800s up to a few decades ago. As well as the preservation of historic objects, the museum also hosts cultural events and shows and provides educational services to the area.
