Trulli Olea, is a little bit hidden, at the end of a bend in the middle of the countryside, in the Itria Valley, central to Italy’s southern region, Puglia; but when you arrive it’s dreamy, fascinating and intriguing.

The allure of Trulli Olea is the expanse of land and surrounding nature, and the little unexpected details; all chosen by the owners. Studied and selected to create a graceful harmony of aesthetic ease in a stylish ambient of peace and comfort. All encased in a startling white stone façade topped with cone shaped roofs reaching for the cobalt blue skies.
The hills of of the Valle d’Itria in Puglia are topped with postcard picturesque villages and towns; Trulli Olea owes its allegiance to Ostuni, the White Town, which flanks the carefree scenography of the Adriatic coast. Ostuni’s territory is wide and vast, often filtering into the neighbourhoods of the smaller villages and thus Olea finds itself closer to Cisternino, a market town that sits in the Valle d'Itria, on the one-side looking over the valley’s edge and on the other glancing towards the ocean.

Friends & Family

Guests create their own unique experience, we just pay attention to the details, cleanliness, quality of services and timing, to create an environment in which it is easy to have fun, collect memories and relax. Oléa has three independently accessed and comfortable bedrooms: ‘Sole, Giove & Luna’. Each accommodating 2 guests. Giove & Luna also have a sofa bed which may accommodate extra guests as necessary.

The Interiors

Central to Trullo Olea is the majestic trullo, surrounded by its smaller domed companions, one of them a ‘torretta’ with a flat roof, all crowded together to create a beautiful holiday home, to charm friends and family.

The large farmhouse kitchen with ceiling high double doors allows in the sunlight, providing an observation point over the flower and vegetable gardens. The kitchen is intended for culinary experiences, a point for consulting. Wooden cupboards and the long dining table handcrafted by local artisans; objects & ceramic bowls selected for their artistic and practical purpose.

Olea proposes a historical experience, living in the original trulli space. Services for guests are typical of top-quality accommodation; providing a mini-fridge, TV, kettle, herbal teas, unobtrusive cool and warm air system, wardrobe space, seating area with sofa bed, shower room, wi-fi.

Each bedroom solution carries a name from the solar system: ‘Sole, Giove & Luna’; three independent trullo apartments, two of which are inter-connecting ('Sole' and 'Giove').

‘Sole’ (sleeps 2) the master trulli has a distinctive and original ‘cementine’ flooring in the double bedroom; an open space lounge and kitchen interlinked by a low bearing stone mantel, niches and loft angles within the white stone structure, and a daybed overlaid with furnishings of soft blue & beige hues. The many apertures bathe the room with a natural and welcoming warm light.
Trullo 'Sole' is internally connected to Trullo 'Giove' for families with young children.

‘Giove’ (sleeps 2) the trullo between the sun and the moon! The colours and images of the locally found cactus bush, the prickly pear or ‘fico d’india’, is celebrated in Giove with an unusually deep fondness. Perhaps there is a connection between the largest planet in the solar system ‘Giove’ – Jupiter and this prolific fruit of Puglia?
‘Giove’ has a twin room with a peaceful garden outlook, shower room and a cheerful seating area (also sofa bed for two if needed).

‘Luna’, (sleeps 2) with a double bed, is soft upon the eyes, with complimentary sunset colours and mellow brown furnishings. Up a couple of steps to the little courtyard, a playful space with hammock and its own patio furniture for morning coffee.

The Exteriors

The bamboo shaded veranda throws arrows of light over the slender stone-built dining table with detailed colourful and hand-made light fixtures suspended above. An extension of the kitchen, a dining area and somewhere to gather with friends and family embracing the aromas, the colours of the kitchen and the explosion of the garden fruits, vegetables and flora.

From the patio, a stoned paved walkway encircles Trullo Olea, accessing each trullo apartment; Sole, Giove and Luna.

The swimming pool is tucked away to the far side of the property with a backdrop provided by the distant and historic town of Cisternino, olive trees, fruit trees, tall trees & small trees, an explosion of lavender and Mediterranean bush and brush alternating the magical panorama.

An outside shaded lounge by the pool is an additional vantage point to view the landscape, and the never- ending changes of light; the sun as it rises and dips along the horizon. Reinforcing the wellbeing of body and spirit in a pleasurable rhythm of relaxation.
